Straight from your door you can enjoy the most beautiful walks with different loops ranging from 3 miles to 22 miles in all directions and these route maps will be left in your room.
A five-minute walk and you are in Colla Pier from where you can take the ferry to Long Island which has no more than 10 inhabitants or the ferry to Cape Clear Island where you can see Dolphins, Whales, Seals, and it has just over 100 inhabitants. It is a designate Gaeltacht area, where the inhabitants speak both English and Irish.
By car there a lot of fantastic one day trips you can enjoy.
You have stunning beaches like the very close Barleycove beach, less than a 1/2 hour away or the spectacular Inchydoney beach at just a 1-hour drive away.
The beautiful Mizzen Head is less than 1/2-hour drive.
The exceptionally beautiful Berra peninsula is just down the road.
On the way to all these beautiful places you cross so many pretty towns. Glengariff is well known for its subtropical vegetation that benefits The Fastnet House and West Cork due to the Gulf Stream influence. The Fastnet House actually has Palm trees growing in the front and back gardens. You can also visit nearby Bantry with its famous bay. And so many more places.
The scenery all the way to those destinations is a wonder.
Hélène and Edward will be happy to assist you in any way.
